The GECC sends out announcements, updates and reminders via its listserv. If you were subscribed over the summer, you received reminders about funding deadlines, announcements from HSS headquarters about reduced room rates, and the latest updates about GECC activities.
Don’t miss a thing! If you haven’t already signed up, you can do so easily. Just send an email to email@example.com Be sure to check your ‘Spam’ box for the confirmation email. You must confirm your subscription to receive emails from the list.
Coming soon on the listserv:
- results from our annual survey,
- official selection for this year’s GECC session at HSS,
- details on the Montreal hot spot for the GECC happy hour.
Graduate and Early Career Caucus is making it even easier for you to keep in touch with other caucus members by creating its own Facebook group. If you are a member of Facebook, you can be a part of GECC discussions, stay up-to-date on announcements, and share the word about the GECC on Facebook. Find the group by clicking on the link below or searching from Facebook.
Special thanks to Suzanne Fischer, GECC alternate Co-Chair, for setting up the group!
GECC’s presence on Facebook should not be construed as an endorsement of that site.
It’s that time again. Deadline for proposals for this year’s meeting in Montreal is 11 April. More information is on the HSS website at http://hssweb.org/callforpapers/.
Here’s the official note from HSS exec director, Jay Malone –
Dear HSS Members,
Just a reminder that the paper, poster and session submission form for the
2010 Montreal meeting (4-7 November) is available on the HSS web site:
http://hssweb.org/callforpapers/ The deadline for proposals is 11 April.
Further information is available at
http://www.hssonline.org/Meeting/2010HSSMeeting/index.html Please share
these links with colleagues — presenters do not need to be a member of the
HSS but members receive a discount on the registration fee (registration
will open in early August). The 2010 conference will be a joint meeting with
the Philosophy of Science Association.
There are various levels of support for those who appear on the program: NSF
travel grants for graduate students, independent scholars, and recent
scholars; subsidized hotel rooms for graduate students; and information on
child care in Montreal. This should be a wonderful meeting, and our local
arrangements committee is busily planning for some special events in Quebec.
Please do not hesitate to contact the HSS office at firstname.lastname@example.org if
you have questions.
Thank you for your membership in the HSS.
