HSS 2007: Roommates

This Page is Archived.

To apply for housing or find roommates for HSS 2008, please visit the 2008 Annual Meeting Roommates page by clicking here.

This is a location for those attending the HSS annual meeting in DC in November to post and respond to roommate requests. The HSS GECC is happy to facilitate roommate-finding among our other projects.

  1. Hello everyone.

My name is Matthew White. I am the Graduate Assistant for the History of Science Society that is working with issues pertaining to registration which includes signing up graduate student workers. I have taken on the related responsibility of helping meeting attendees, mostly graduate students, find each other for room mate purposes. The HSS Graduate and Early Career Caucus has kindly put this message board on their web site to facilitate that process. If you are looking for a room mate for the 2007 HSS Annual Meeting post your important dates (arrival, departure) your gender, room mate preferences (gender, non-smoking) and any other pertinent information. Be sure to include your email so people can respond. If you successfully find a room mate please let us know so that we can judge whether this service is worth doing again next year.

Also, this service is open to anyone, not just Graduate Students or Early Career people.

Lastly, HSS and the Graduate and Early Career Caucus is just providing this space to facilitate communication. Please exercise due diligence when finding and vetting possible room mates.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

    Matthew White

  2. My colleague Rob and I would be happy to find one or two additional roommates. It is already a co-ed room, so male or female is fine, but must be willing to share with the two of us. We will be getting in Thursday and staying through Sunday; neither of us smoke and will be booking a non-smoking room.

  3. I’m looking for a roommate for the duration of the meeting. I’m an undergraduate from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. I’m a male non-smoker, but I’d be open to staying with anyone regardless of gender and whether he/she/they smoke.
Please email me at latif@dartmouth.edu if you’ve got a bed, a couch, or even floor space. Thanks a lot.

  4. Hello, If anyone is interested is sharing a room at the conference hotel (Marriott) let me know. I have a reservation for Friday and Saturday night. I have an an extra queen bed in the room. I’m a 50 yo, male, graduate student from California, quiet, non-smoker, etc., etc. I got the conference rate for both nights, but the interested part can pay only what they can.
